HARTINGTON SAYS NO TO NEW HOUSING ESTATE

Villagers are fighting plans for a housing estate of 42 new houses on the site of the old Cheese Dairy.

Despite the vast majority of villagers opposing the scheme the Property Developer has submitted plans leaving opponents little time to respond.

The housing estate will increase the size of the village by a THIRD overnight including building on green field land. Although the village welcomes the 6 starter homes - these come at the expense of 36 private houses whose price range is up to a £1 million.

75% of villagers replied to a questionnaire sent out by the Peak Park Authority and two thirds wanted less than 15 houses.
